‘Tis the season for a road trip, my friends! Summer is the season for time off, warm weather, and adventure, and I’ve created the perfect playlist to compliment every cool thing you’ve got planned.

As some of you may know, here at Uninspired, we’re all about creating the life you want. Your twenties are a time where it’s easy to get lost in the hard work of adjusting to adulthood, and we don’t want to forget to have fun! So, some of my posts are aimed at helping you do better in #adulting (have you seen my friend Naur’s guest post about job interviews yet?), and some are just pure fun, like this one.

While you’re planning your road trip, you also might want to think about entering my giveaway! I’m giving away a lovely scratch-off map of the United States. When you visit a state, you scratch off the gold foil for it, and reveal a gorgeous watercolor painting underneath. You can gain entries by joining my email list, following on various social media platforms, and more! It ends in five days, so be sure to load up on your entries!

The road trip playlist is set up based on a few different criteria. The first has to do with how fun the song is to sing along to. The second is popularity, with sub-criteria of withstanding the test of time, or wild popularity recently. The third is the extent to which the song inspires wanderlust, or a sense of adventure. You can check out the list below, and be sure to pin the infographic to Pinterest!

    • Thanks Kate! If your favorite song is on it, chances are you’ll like the rest, too šŸ™‚

  1. as long as the list includes Hotel California, The Eagles , this’s a list I’ll definitely want to play all the way to my destination !

    • Hah! I agree, obviously! Glad you like it, and hope you get to enjoy it on a road trip soon! Thanks for your comment!

  2. This is amazing!!! I grew up on these songs and I can probably sing along to every single one word for word! Can’t remember how to do algebra, but song lyrics I’ve got! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ thanks for sharing!

    • Thanks girl!! I think that’s what makes them so fun– they’re the songs we grew up with, and ones we haven’t heard in a long time! And I completely agree about the algebra thing, but hey, I never use algebra and I use song lyrics every day sooo…. šŸ™‚

    • I was thinking the exact same thing. Forgot school stuff give me the music. I drive home to most of these everyday.

      • Haha yes!! My mom always used to ask me in high school why I couldn’t remember to bring my homework home but I remember every word to every song on the radio šŸ™‚ Thanks for reading, and glad you enjoy the songs!!

  3. Great list!! I love listening to some good tunes on a car ride. My car rides are usually spent listening to cartoons though because I have 3 children and only 2 headsets…..**puts in reminder to get that third one bought**!

    • Hahaha well here’s hoping you get a trip this summer where you can listen to your own, good music!! Thanks for your comment!

  4. Some great suggestions for music! I’m not specific to one genre, so this is awesome! Thanks! I’ll surely be using this!

    • So glad you like it!! I thought about making it a long list of like, indie music because there’s so much of it that inspires me to get out on the road, but that’s not the only thing that makes a road trip fun! Singing along with your friends and reminiscing about old times can really make a trip worth it. Thanks for your comment!

    • Agreed!! It’s not the most upbeat song on the list by a long shot, but it definitely inspires me to get out on the road. Thanks for your comment, and glad you like it!

  5. Ha! Just so happens we’re going on a road trip this weekend šŸ™‚ This is perfect. Starting off with Sweet Home Alabama, fun times!

  6. This is such a great list! I am going to have to add some of these songs to my party play list that my friends and I use at all our outings!! Thank you for this post!

    • Oh I’m so glad!! And that’s a great idea, it’s a good party playlist, too! Maybe take off a couple like Fast Car and any of the Lana Del Rey, they’re not very upbeat šŸ™‚

  7. I totally forgot about some of these songs!
Save tonight – eagle eye cherry šŸ™‚
Eye of the Tiger – Blast from the past and awesome!
    Thanks for sharing

    • It’s the best when those songs come on that you totally forgot about! I included a lot of older classics hoping people would have exactly that feeling šŸ™‚
