The rainy mood playlist.
It’s for a day, probably cold and rainy, where you just don’t feel like doing life. The rainy mood playlist is for sitting in bed, under warm blankets with a nice hot drink, brooding about something. Everything.
Is anyone else’s mental state super dependent on the weather?!
I decided to write out these songs when the weather had dropped from 65 to 32 degrees overnight, and I was feeling particularly cold, sad, and bitter. It happens to me a lot– when it’s cold out, it’s always harder for me to get up and do things than it is in the summer. I have much more motivation in the warmer months, or at least when the sun is out. When it’s rainy or cold or gray, I like to stay inside with a playlist like the one below, with songs that reflect my mood. It reminds me that other people get this way, so it’s okay. And it’s okay to spend some time taking care of yourself.
The rainy mood playlist is for everyone who feels this way sometimes.
Literally everyone has days where they just want to curl up in a ball and brood instead of painting on that smile and taking on responsibilities. As long as this isn’t the majority of your days, it’s fine to do this. Especially when you’re in your twenties– you have so much to do. You’re trying to build your financial independence, make a name for yourself at work, get good grades in school, navigate all kinds of relationships. You need to wallow sometimes. So, my gift to you, is the gift of music to wallow to.
